This is ChandraSekhar I tried compiling latest trunk of awn, went through successfully. when i am compiling awn-extras( applets to my understanding), i was asked for the below pacakges.

These are the packaged one need to compile awn-extras successfully on Fedora Core8

libsexy, libnotify, gnome-menus, vte, python-feedparser, gnome-python2-gtkmozembed

[edit] gnome-menus

i had to downgrade from 3.2.0.1-1 => 2.30.5-1 to get any of the menu applets to work -milk
