The Affinity Applet allows you to search your files using the stylish Affinity. You need to have development packages of either Beagle or Tracker to search.

[edit] Usage

Bring up Affinity by clicking the applet icon or hitting Ctrl-Alt-A. Start typing to immediately get results. Hit the Escape key or click the applet icon to hide Affinity.
