The aRSS applet allows you to watch your favorite RSS and ATOM feeds for updates. By default, it has the feeds for Planet GNOME and Planet Ubuntu, but feeds can easily be added or removed via the "Config Window" option accessed from right-clicking the applet icon. You will probably have to update the applet before changes can be seen.
